Hot Bench, from the producers of Judge Judy, features a panel of three judges who preside over small-claims. We created a theme that reflects the drama of the courtroom and the tension in the chambers as the judges debate the merits of each case. We also created a several companion pieces with the theme melody (or elements of the theme) to help the show’s editors in different parts of the episodes. You can find a few of those below.

Dr Phil landed the first interview with Casey Anthony’s parents after Casey was acquitted of murdering her daughter. Producers of the show requested a special package of music to capture the mystery of Caylee Anthony’s death and the courtroom drama of Casey’s trial. The highly charged two-part primetime series garnered some of the show’s best ratings in its ten-year history.

Rachael Ray   |   Latin Music, Part 1

Producers at Rachael Ray planned a series of shows filmed in Mexico and requested we create some authentic Latin music for them. It sounded like a fun challenge, plus it was a bit different from types of requests we usually get. After our composers wrote the music, we teamed up with talented Latin musicians to record in the studio. The musicians brought the music to life, and we were really pleased with the finished products.

For the series of shows filmed in Mexico, the Rachael Ray producers also asked us to add Latin elements to a few tracks in their Diamond E music library. The original cues were intense, orchestral soundtrack cues with elements inspired by Gustav Holst’s The Planets. We layered the music with live-recorded Latin percussion, flamenco style guitars and trumpet. The resulting music has an exotic, Latin flair, and retains the heart-pounding intensity of the originals.

Ask Oprah’s All Stars is a new show on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), featuring Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, and Suze Orman. The hosts answer viewers’ questions on health, wealth, and mental well-being. We created a modern pop theme with positive energy.

The theme for Swift Justice With Jackie Glass features an intense orchestral strings section and heavy drums. The driving, pulsing bass and synthesizers add a tense and suspenseful accompaniment, perfect for the courtroom drama of the show.

The Dr. Phil Show theme has become one of the most recognizable themes on daytime television. The original theme was created for the show’s debut in the fall of 2002. This is an updated version of the original theme, created a few years later.

Producers from The Doctors had the idea to incorporate part of Robert Palmer’s classic hit, “Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)” into the theme. But the hosts frequently discuss heavier topics related to healthcare, so they didn’t just want a rock track. We ended up writing two different pieces of music that work together: one orchestral, one rock ‘n’ roll.
